Right now, Airlines are making alterations to their schedules on a daily basis as they attempt to adapt to the ever-changing entry rules that various counties have been introducing. Recent restrictions introduced by the likes of the UK, Vietnam, and Thailand have seen numerous flights to those countries cut from the schedules so it's nice to be able to report that JAL will be increasing services to the US from September.

It can be hard for a lot of travelers (like me) to get a feel for how things are really looking in the aviation world right now, but if you want to see how bad things still are (in the very near term) you only have to take a look at the latest international schedule Japan Airlines (JAL) has published for July

Last week I wrote about a good JAL Business Class fare from New York to Tokyo and Taipei and now it looks like the airline has posted another good fare for travel between Boston and Beijing with prices starting at around $2,327 for roundtrip travel.

JAL has posted a very good Business Class fare for travel between New York JFK and Taipei which not only sees customers traveling in great cabins but also opens up the opportunity for members of various oneworld loyalty programs to earn a significant number of redeemable miles and miles/points towards elite status.

When I discover something I didn't previously know about a loyalty program I rarely use I'm generally not very surprised because modern-day loyalty programs have so many nuances that it's almost impossible to keep on top of all of them...but today's discovery genuinely caught me off guard - I had no idea that you could credit Japan Airlines (JAL) flights to the Flying Blue program (and vice versa) and this is something I would expect myself to know.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has today announced that it will be changing the reservation start date for its international flights from 330 days to 360 days prior to departure later this year and this will be particularly good news for travelers planning to visit Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics.

Hawaiian Airlines and Japan Airlines (JAL) have today signed a "comprehensive new partnership agreement that will greatly enhance the ease and comfort of travel for passengers traveling between the two island chains". The new agreement, which is subject to government approval, will open up new codeshare routes for customers are well as leading to reciprocal lounge access and benefit for frequent flyers.

As I don't really visit many SPG properties my primary channel for earning Starpoints are my Amex/Starwood co-branded cards and my primary use for them is usually as a conversion to an airline's loyalty program (they convert at a 1:1 ratio into a surprising number of airline programs) - it's just one such conversion I'm going to write about today.

I tried and reviewed the JAL 777 First Class product between Japan and Europe earlier in the year so, although this was the cabin Joanna and I flew between London and Tokyo on our trip to Asia, it doesn't make all that much sense to write another review. Having said that they do say that a picture is worth a thousand words so I thought I'd pull together some images from our flight.

I'd had a pretty good experience with my JAL Business Class flight a few days beforehand so I was looking forward to seeing what the airline would offer in its long haul First Class cabin. With a scheduled travel time of over 12 hours there would be no shortage of time to try out the product properly.
