In the past few years, Chase has taken to offering a variety of quarterly targeted spending bonuses across its co-branded card portfolio and with the next quarter of 2023 around the corner, at least some of the bonuses that will be offered through the end of June have now been revealed.

New Chase spending bonuses

On some of my Chase cards, the bonuses that I can see being offered still relate to the current quarter. On others, there’s no bonus at all, but my IHG® Rewards Premier credit card and my Ritz-Carlton™ credit card (no longer open to new applicants) are both showing new offers for April – June 2023.

This is what those offers look like:

IHG® Rewards Premier credit card

You’ll earn 7X total points at gas stations and restaurants and 5X total points at grocery stores for every $1 you spend on up to $1,500 in combined purchases with your IHG® Rewards Credit Card from April 1 through June 30, 2023.

Ritz-Carlton™ credit card

You’ll earn 5X total points for every $1 you spend on up to $1,500 in combined purchases at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants with The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card from April 1 through June 30, 2023.

As has been the case with a lot of other similar promotions, these offers will be targeted to Chase’s co-branded credit cards and not Chase’s standalone cards (e.g. the Chase Sapphire Preferred® credit card) so if you hold any co-branded cards (e.g. the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier credit card or the United Club℠ Infinite card), make sure that you check to see if you’re being targeted.

(Note: Chase may not have loaded all the bonuses that it plans to offer just yet so make sure you double check once 1 April has come around).

Checking for bonuses

If you want to see if Chase has targeted you for any bonuses, you should head over to Chase.com/mybonus, enter your name, your zip code, and the last 4 digits of your Chase credit card and the site will show you if that card has been targeted for a bonus offer. If you’re out of luck, try another card!

Keep in mind that any cards that were targeted for bonuses in Q1 will currently still show those bonuses when you check the Chase site because those bonuses don’t expire until the end of the month – anyone in this position will have to check again on 1 April to see if their card(s) have been targeted for another bonus this quarter.

Note: Cards that are not open to new applicants (like the legacy IHG Rewards credit card) are also eligible to be targeted for these bonuses (as my offer on the Ritz-Carlton card proves).

Key terms

The specific wording will differ from card to card, but the key terms that have been applied to the promotions that I can see look like this:

General terms

  • To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must activate by 06/30/23 11:59 PM ET.
  • Total points shown is the maximum you will earn on those purchases during the promotion, regardless of what you already earn on those purchases in your rewards program.
  • For more information about Chase rewards categories, see chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs.
  • Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer.
  • Delays by the merchant could extend the transaction date beyond the offer period. Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for points to post to your account. (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.)
  • To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
  • This bonus offer is non-transferable.

Terms specific to the IHG Premier® credit card offer:

  • You will earn 7 points total for each $1 spent in the gas stations and dining at restaurants categories and 5 points total for each $1 spent in the grocery stores category on up to $1,500 in total combined purchases from 04/01/2023 to 06/30/2023.
  •  Eligible credit cards: IHG® Rewards Premier Credit Card.

Terms specific to the Ritz-Carlton™ credit card offer:

  • You will earn 5 points total for each $1 spent in the gas stations, grocery stores, and dining at restaurants categories on up to $1,500 in total combined purchases from 04/01/2023 to 06/30/2023.
  • Eligible credit cards: The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card.

Full terms and conditions can be found on the targeted offer.

Bottom line

If you hold a Chase co-branded credit card, there’s a chance that you’ve been targeted for a 2Q spending bonus (or that you’re about to be targeted) so head over to Chase.com/mybonus to see what (if anything) is waiting for you.

If you’re fortunate enough to find bonus offers linked to one or more of your cards, don’t forget to compare the value of what you’re being offered to the value you can get from the other cards in your portfolio as the 2Q bonuses may not be the best deals open to you.

  1. […] Each quarter, Chase has targeted spending offers for many of their credit cards called My Bonus Spending Offers. These are capped at $1500 in combined purchases across the targeted categories, per card, and run for 3 months. If you have a Chase Freedom Flex(SM) you’re familiar with rotating 5x category bonuses and these work in the same way. This quarter, Chase is targeting cards with 5x to 7x bonus points on purchases made at grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants. Lets’ take a look! H/T Traveling for Miles […]

  2. I was targeted for 7x for dining, grocery and gas on my Chase British Airways Card. Any idea if this works outside the USA?

    • Yes. Based on my experiences, as long as your overseas purchases code correctly (dining, grocery, gas), you’ll earn the bonus points.
