Chase is currently targeting select cardholders for savings of between 5 and 10% on specific spending made with United Airlines. Unfortunately the cash back on offer is capped and the deal only runs through 23 January, but if you’re about to make a booking with United, its probably worth checking tom see if you have been targeted.

Quick thoughts

I can see this offer targeted to my Ink Business Preferred® credit card (review) and my Ritz-Carlton credit card (no longer open to new applicants), but other cards may have been targeted too (with a bit of luck, holders of the United ClubSM Infinite Card will have been targeted for this).

I have no idea how long this deal has been around for but I don’t recall noticing it when I checked my account at the beginning of the week, so it looks like this could be one of Chase’s flash offers.

Overall, this a nice deal to be targeted for if you’re about to make a booking directly with United Airlines. On a regular booking you’ll have to spend $1,200 to max-out the cash back while those making Economy Plus bookings will need to spend just $600. Neither of those targets strikes me as being unreasonable, so quite a few people should be able to do well here.

Bottom line

If you’re about to make a booking with United Airlines, make sure you check your Chase offers before you make payment as you may have been targeted for an offer that could save you up to $60. That’s not exactly a great deal of money, but it’s certainly better than nothing.
