Over the past year, Capital One has been causing waves in the travel segment of the credit card world with the changes that it has been making to some of its products and the benefits they offer. Now, with yet another positive move announced, Capital One has improved three of its cards even further.

The highly lauded Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card has been offering a welcome bonus of 100,000 points (for those who meet the spending target) since it was first launched in November last year and with this welcome offer set to end on March 15th, you could be forgiven for thinking that I'll be rushing out to get my application done asap. This time, however, I'm going to be sitting this one out.

As of today, applications for the new Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card are open. This is the latest premium card to be targeted to the miles & points world and when you consider what this card offers alongside its comparatively low annual fee, it's probably not overstating things when I say that this will almost certainly be the most popular premium card launch since the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card first came on the scene.

Capital One recently got the miles and points community considerably more excited about a couple of its credit cards when it announced that a majority of transfers to its travel partners would now process in a 1:1 ratio. Today, more excitement seems to be on the way as the bank announces that it will launch the Venture X credit card in 5 days' time.

If Amex deciding that Walmart is an appropriate partner for its Platinum Card wasn't a big enough surprise for your Thursday morning, then try this on for size: Capital One has announced that the miles earned from spending on two of its cards will now convert over to most of its partners in a 1:1 ratio. Who saw that coming?!

A little surprisingly, Capital One has given us early notice that it will be offering holders of four of its credit cards a bonus when they transfer points across to the British Airways Executive Club. Anyone considering converting their Venture Miles into British Airways Avios should hold tight for a few weeks as the transfer ratio being offered is about to get noticeably better.

The Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card has just had its welcome offer refreshed and the new bonus being offered is an incredible 100,000 points - That's double what the card was offering up until now. With Chase introducing its fantastic Freedom Flex card just a week ago and also improving the value proposition of its Freedom Unlimited credit card, it looks as if Capital One has suddenly realised that it needs to respond.

Capital One has had a relationship with Hotels.com for a number of years and through this relationship holders of the Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card have been able to earn 10 miles/dollar for all spending made through Hotels.com. Traditionally this relationship has run January through January so we've been waiting to see if this earnings bonus would be renewed for 2020...but it doesn't look like this will be happening.

Capital One has just announced that it will be adding two hotel loyalty programs to the list of partners to which holders of select Capital One cards can transfer their miles (these are programs to which no other credit card currency can be transferred) as well as improving the transfer ratio to one of its existing partner programs.
