I have to confess that this really isn't a critical piece of news that you all need to know but as we have quite a few readers from Hawaii and the West Coast, this seemed like something we should share - the Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard® now offers cardholders more free checked backs on select flights and that could be a money saver.

It now looks like Barclays has finally updated the rewards and benefits section of its Aviator website so we can finally see what benefits have been left in place for holders of the Red Card (Silver cardholders may see slightly different benefits).

Something big is going on in the world of credit cards right now with a number of major card issuers making some serious changes to the benefits they're prepared to offer their customers.

Reports are currently emerging which suggest that Barclays is sending out warnings on select credit card statements to let cardholders know that it will be removing extended warranty and price protection benefits from 1 November 2019.

Right now, the Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business credit card is offering an impressive 75,000 AAdvantage miles as its sign-up bonus but, as a recent email I received suggested this was my “last chance” to earn this bonus, it’s possible that this offer will not be around for much longer.

I'm going to start off by admitting that I'm not a massive fan of the American Airlines AAdvantage Aviator Red Mastercard despite the fact that it happens to be a credit card that I currently hold (for now).The recent changes to the card that Barclays has pushed through has made the card's long-term usefulness questionable but the current sign-up bonus (which ends tonight) is so good that it's almost certainly worth taking out the card for that alone.

Last week we found out that Barclays is making some big changes to its American Airlines Aviator credit cards and, while some of the changes may be perceived as positive, the general consensus appears to be that the AAdvantage Aviator Red card will soon be a lot less useful than it is right now.

From 1 May 2019 Barclays will be putting through some significant changes to what both the Red and Silver Aviator cards offer and although some changes are positive there's quite a bit of bad news too.

For a number of years Barclays' primary travel card has been its Arrival credit card but, while that card started life off quite promisingly, Barclays didn't wait too long before devaluing its earning power to a point where it's nothing more than a also-ran in the miles and points world. Now Barclays has introduced the Barclays Arrival Premier Credit Card to the world and, after having been teased about the card's potential benefits and features for a few weeks, the end result can only be described as a monumental disappointment.

American Airlines has been sending out emails to AAdvantage Aviator credit card holders offering them up to 20 miles per dollar on spending at the AAdvantage eShopping store. Before you get overly excited you should know that the greatly enhanced earning rates are only available at a few select stores....but this could still be an economical way of racking up some AAdvantage miles while doing your Holiday shopping. This offer appears to have been running for a few days so I'm not sure why I've only just received the email but, that aside, the offer looks interesting.
