The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a no annual fee card aimed at small businesses looking to maximize their earnings every time they make a purchase. While a number of other business cards offer great earning rates in very specific shopping categories, the Ink Business Unlimited Card’s party trick is that it offers a good earning rate regardless of which category a user is shopping in.

Why this is a great card
The welcome offer
The $7500 cash back that the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card offers all successful applicants after they spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, is essentially free money. The card doesn’t charge an annual fee so as long as a cardholder doesn’t carry a balance on this card (and they shouldn’t), the money the welcome bonus is offering is genuinely “free”.
In addition, the $750 cash back can be taken as 75,000 Ultimate Rewards Points if a holder of the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card also holds a Chase Sapphire card or the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Card so, as I value Ultimate Rewards Points at 1.5 cents each (based on the value I know that I can get out of them with ease), the welcome bonus can be worth $1,125.
That’s an incredibly impressive return from a welcome offer on a credit card that doesn’t charge an annual fee.

The earning rate
The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a card that’s designed to be used for spending in categories where other cards don’t offer a better return than 1 point or 1% cash back per dollar, and the unlimited 1.5% cash back that this card offers is one of the best non-bonused earning rates offered by a small business card.
If a holder of the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card also holds a Sapphire personal card or the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Card, the 1.5% cash back on offer can be converted to 1.5 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar which, based on my valuation (1.5 cents/point), is equivalent to a 2.25% rate of return. That’s fantastic.
Primary auto rental cover
Unlike a lot of credit cards, the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card offers cardholders primary auto rental cover as long as the rental company’s collision insurance is declined, the rental is for business purposes, and the entire rental cost is charged to the card.
Considering how many small businesses require their employees (and owners) to rent cars, this can be an incredibly useful benefit to have.
The power pairing
A small business owner who pairs their Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card with the fantastic Chase Ink Business Preferred® Card (review) would pay a total annual fee of just $95 and have access to all of the following earning rates and benefits:
3 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases in the following categories each anniversary year:
- Travel
- Shipping purchases
- Internet, cable, and phone services
- Advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines
1.5% cash back or 1.5 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar on spending in all other categories.
- Primary auto rental cover
- Cell Phone protection
- Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption insurance
- Purchase protection
- Extended warranty protection
- Roadside dispatch
In addition, the cardholder would have access to all the benefits of the Chase Ultimate Rewards program including the ability to transfer points to 11 airline partners and 3 hotel partners in a 1:1 ratio (details), and the ability to get 1.25 cents/point in value when they spend their points on travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.
That is a phenomenal amount of value for just $95/year in annual fees – the cell phone protection alone is probably worth more than that – and the ability for a cardholder to earn a minimum effective rebate of 2.25% on any spending made shouldn’t be underestimated.
Bottom line
On its own, the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card from Chase is a great cashback card to use for all spending for which other cards don’t offer a bonus. However, when combined with one of the Chase Sapphire cards or the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Card, it becomes part of a fantastic pairing that opens up an incredible number of great earning opportunities across a wide variety of spending categories.
Quite simply, the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is one of the best no annual fee credit cards around and a card that can be put to great use in most wallets – find out how to apply.
