I have had them remove it sometimes. It is optional in many places and they sometimes don’t put it on the menu and the bill is a surprise.

It is simply a bait and switch on food prices. Happy to see what your pricing actually is and decide whether or not to eat at your establishment, or stay in your hotel etc. And I am an advocate for fair wages and benefits.

That’s a huge BS charge. I ultimately would have paid it if they wouldn’t remove the surcharge but if even 10 of people complain they’ll likely find the fee to not be worthwhile.
